At the end of 2025, the team at That Boutique-y Whisky Company delved through the treasures in their warehouse and chose a handful of the best single casks to bottle for a limited edition series. This gem from Caol Ila was a fine selection!
Sweet, spicy, and smoky, this 13-year-old Islay single malt completed its maturation with a two-year stay in a fresh rye whisky barrel. The result is a robust single malt, layered with a medley of savoury spice, burnt sugar, coastal smoke, and meaty malt.

That Boutique-y Whisky Company bottles limited edition whiskies from a variety of renowned distilleries as well as producing award-winning blends, all adorned with cultish graphic novel-style labels. The brand won Spirits Bottler of the Year at the 2023 Spirits Business Awards, and Blender of the Year went to Sam Simmons, captain of the Boutique-y clan who oversees every one of these releases.
Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt
Nose
Bold smoke and spice at the fore, with smoked caramel sweetness and candied nuts balancing waves of salt and pepper crisps and coastal, briny peat. Notes of sweet paprika and woody clove, a touch of dandelion and burdock.
Palate
Salted peanuts and briny peat smoke open the way, with hints of vanilla fudge and Lotus biscuit in tow. Coastal notes of seaweed take hold, with earthy, smoky spice beneath.
Finish
Ash, burnt brown sugar, salted smoked almonds, flamed orange peels, cured meat, and peanut brittle.
