Caol Ila single malt here, distilled in 2009 and matured for 13 years in a bourbon hogshead. It was bottled in 2023 by Signatory Vintage for its Cask Strength Collection, with an outturn of 278.
Nose: Nutty toasted barley, with waves of coastal peat, crumbly shortbread, and set honey.
Palate: Toasted oak, more peat, some salted caramel, and a touch of waxy orange.
Finish: Beach bonfires and oaky vanilla.
