Single malt Scotch whisky from Islay's wonderful Caol Ila Distillery, independently bottled by Decadent Drinks. This one was drawn from a pair of hogshead casks which matured the whisky for 13 years, and has been bottled up at 48.5% ABV. Expect soft waves of smoky peat and creamy fruit notes.
Oat cakes, flint, smoke drifting in delicately, a touch of lemon meringue.
Smoke remains at the fore, but never becoming overwhelming and intense. Barley, heather honey, and stewed apples.
Baked earth with a prickle of peppery spice.
