Description
12-year-old Caol Ila single malt, bottled as part of our very own Single Cask Series! It was drawn from a refill Sherry cask which was filled in April 2003 and opened in September 2015, and has been bottled at 59.8% ABV. These bottles also feature neat glass closures!
Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt
Nose
Oatcakes, figs and hot cross buns with salted butter. This develops into notes of stones on the seaside and toffee-dipped banana sweetness appears if you leave it for a few minutes.
Palate
Chocolate digestives, more oat cakes, red bean paste, sea shells and an oily touch of green olive. A little hot prickle of red chilli.
Finish
Thyme honey, minerals, soot and a touch of bubblegum.
Overall
An ace Caol Ila which shows great balance between sweetness and savoury coastal notes.
