Distilled at Caol Ila in October 2009, this single malt spent the next 11 years resting in a single hogshead cask. In March 2021, the cask was opened for indie bottling series The Single Malts of Scotland, releasing a total outturn of 308 bottles at a rather robust 59.8% ABV.
Sooty oak and sea breeze, maritime peat with sugared pastry and lemon peels.
Oily smoke and rich malt, with charred heather and earthy spice, coastal notes of herbaceous seaweed, lemongrass, and bonfire ash.
Waxed citrus, salt and pepper crackers, rich oak spice finished up with yet more smoky salinity.
