Description

The team at Signatory has a knack for picking out good casks of Caol Ila, and they've done it again here! This expression was distilled in 2010 and matured for a decade in two hogsheads, before being bottled up in 2021 for Sigantory's range of independently bottled whiskies.

A nice whisky…

Comes out massively welly in a couple of blind tests. Nice smokey taste with good depth… very quaffable…

Underwhelming, no smoke

Quite disappointing really. Feels like an anaemic 12 Caol Ila, despise being non chill filtered. Thin notes on the nose, extremely thin and flat mouth feel, very little here over a saline / sea shore. Want some advice? Stick with regular Caol Ila if that’s your tipple.
