A wonderfully balanced expression from the core Caol Ila range, this 18 year old is malty and thick with notes of Caol Ila smoke and phenols, a lovely Islay single malt without extreme levels of peat.
Aromatic, darkness. Herbal, vegetal. Grassy, creamy malt.
Big, refined sweetness, leafy. Well integrated oak, smoke, oily, peat. Barley.
Long, herbal notes, gentle smoke, soft peat. Oily wood.

At 43% 18yo is the sweet spot for this spirit. Luscious, creamy, fruity - a really under appreciated and under rated whisky.
The best ever single malt imho.
reminds me very much of that flavor, kinda smoky cherry, with some pineapple and other fruit. Gets a solid 91 from me
Strange in nose, really a good surprise in palate. I really love it.
Top notch whisky very well balanced refined smoke and peat lovely long oily smokey finish I much prefer older Islay whisky where it is more refined not just a big hit of peat
