An intriguing blended malt from the North Star Spirits range, made of whiskies from undisclosed distilleries in the Campbeltown region! Drawn from bourbon hogshead, 726 bottles of the 4 year old expression were produced.
Very citrus led and with some spicy elements. For the price it's a steal. I have it from a reliable source that this is Glen Scotia with a teaspoon of juice from another Campbeltown distillery. North Star can do no wrong in my opinion.
Nice balance between young whisky and malt. Properly tamed, zesty nose, buttery sweet taste, minimal bite. Needs a splash of water to open up but very mouthwatering and full bodied. The question is, is it really 100% 4 year old distillate, or only a spoonful of if on top of some older expressions? If it's really that young, the barrels chosen by NSS were indeed, special.
