Campbeltown 4yo 2014

An intriguing blended malt from the North Star Spirits range, made of whiskies from undisclosed distilleries in the Campbeltown region! Drawn from bourbon hogshead, 726 bottles of the 4 year old expression were produced.

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

Nose Nutty brown bread with honey, lemon peel, eucalyptus and peppercorn.

Palate Continued citrus influence, melted butter, fairly spicy at points.

Finish Subtle salinity, but baking spices and vanilla lead the way.

Reviews for Campbeltown 4 Year Old 2014 - North Star Spirits
Straight up, no nonsense, honest whisky.
Very citrus led and with some spicy elements. For the price it's a steal. I have it from a reliable source that this is Glen Scotia with a teaspoon of juice from another Campbeltown distillery. North Star can do no wrong in my opinion.

Another cracker from NSS.
Nice balance between young whisky and malt. Properly tamed, zesty nose, buttery sweet taste, minimal bite. Needs a splash of water to open up but very mouthwatering and full bodied.
The question is, is it really 100% 4 year old distillate, or only a spoonful of if on top of some older expressions? If it's really that young, the barrels chosen by NSS were indeed, special.
