Cameronbridge 40yo 1978 Bottling Note

A magnificently well-aged single grain, single cask Cameronbridge! This whisky left the stills back in January 1978, and was then left in a single refill barrel for the next four decades. Once these many moons had passed, Douglas Laing bottled it up for its aptly-named Xtra Old Particular series, with 200 cask strength bottles released at 55.6% ABV. Gloriously buttery and spiced, this one.

Tasting Note by The Producer

Nose: The nose shows its USA barrel heritage with vanilla, corn oil and bourbon.

Palate: The palate is so dulcet, sugared and gently spiced, plus a later mocha quality.

Finish: Catch early oak on the finish, ahead of more spices, barley sugar and custard.
