Cameronbridge 39 Year Old 1979 Single Cask (Master of Malt)
Glorious single grain Scotch whisky from Cameronbridge, distilled in 1979, just before people started sporting mullet haircuts. We can confidently say that (probably) no one with a mullet was involved in the distillation of this one. Unless, you know, they were on the cutting-edge of style. Matured for a whopping 39 years in a single ex-bourbon barrel, it was disgorged in 2018 and now we bring this deliciousness to you. A release of 169 bottles.
Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt
Nose
Fresh wood polish and a touch of resin. Prunes, dates, and crystalised ginger.
Palate
Tarte Tatin brings baked apple sweetness and buttery pastry. Earthy pangs of cinnamon bark and root ginger poke through, balanced by creamy salted almonds and bold oak.
Finish
Fragrant at the end, with poached stone fruits and more sweet, flaky pastry. Zesty citrus arrives to balance the spice, with nutty oak and creamy grain resting beneath.
