Cambus - Batch 1 (That Boutique-y Whisky Company)

Would you look at this - the first batch of Cambus single grain Scotch whisky bottled by That Boutique-y Whisky Company! The label features a selection of references that the Cambus cognoscenti out there will surely spot from a mile off, like the wonderfully photographic stock of casks and the Cambus Iron Bridge (both underneath a blanket of snow). The distillery text may be familiar if you've seen any of the old magazine adverts for Cambus too. A rare chance to get a taste of whisky from the Cambus distillery, which sadly shut its doors in 1993.

Batch 1 is a release of just 41 bottles.

‘That Boutique-y Whisky Company’ bottles single malts, single grains, bourbons, blended malts and blends from a variety of renowned distilleries. These whiskies are adorned with cultish graphic novel-style labels.

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

Nose

Vanilla cream, peach skin with a little fern and eau de vie, which all give way to classic soft fudge with just a little time in the glass.

Palate

Fudge pieces in ice cream. Pass the spoon!

Finish

A return to edgier, more fragrant orchard fruit notes before a creamy banoffee finale.

Overall

Yummy grain! A drop of water smooths out its edges effortlessly, but we enjoy this one at full strength.
