A snowy scene sits upon this single grain - it's another cracking bottling of Cambus from That Boutique-y Whisky Company! This time, the Boutique-y bunch has managed to get its hands on a 28 year old whisky from the closed distillery, and it's jam-packed with vanilla, boiled sweetie and baking spices notes.

Batch 11 is a release of 435 bottles.

‘That Boutique-y Whisky Company’ bottles single malts, single grains and bourbons from a variety of renowned distilleries as well as producing award-winning blended malts and blends. These whiskies are adorned with cultish graphic novel-style labels.

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

Nose Thick slabs of toffee fudge, grounded cinnamon, Campino sweets and a lick of vanilla followed by browning apples, spiced rum and a just a touch of icing sugar.

Palate Orchard fruits, juicy sultanas, apricot yoghurt and hazelnut whip, with some spice and minerality in support. Notes of vanilla ice cream, lemon sherbets and milk chocolate develop underneath.

Finish Long, sweet and elegant.

Really nice, the age is evident very moreish indeed
Lovely dram, hints of rum, raisens and age mmmmmmm could have drunk lots but only had a sample bottle

Had the 27 yo in the Advent calendar
Well-aged single grain, as ever a recommended – and gravely overlooked – style. From a closed distillery on top, very democratically priced too for the age. If single grain is your ‘acquired taste*’ absolutely a go to dram (* if not/not yet, try some!)
