Caledonian 29yo TBWC

A rare bottling of single grain from the Caledonian distillery, aged for 29 years and independently bottled by That Boutique-y Whisky Company! The 'Cally' closed its doors for the last time back in 1988 and though apartments now live on the site, the massive chimney remains. If you happened to climb to the top of it, you'd be greeted with a stunning view of Edinburgh, just like on this label...

Batch 2 is a release of 310 bottles.

‘That Boutique-y Whisky Company’ bottles single malts, single grains and bourbons from a variety of renowned distilleries as well as producing award-winning blended malts and blends. These whiskies are adorned with cultish graphic novel-style labels.

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

Nose Vanilla ice-cream topped with fudge sauce and Milkybar Buttons. A hint of unripe banana and melon develops underneath.

Palate Quite chocolatey, balanced with hints of salted pretzel. A slight whisper of waxy lime peel.

Finish Still packed with vanilla, though touches of spicy oak appear later on.

Reviews for Caledonian 29 Year Old (That Boutique-y Whisky Company)
Very nice.
A very nice whisky. It is a shame that TBWC could not have told us a bit more about it, such as what it has been aged in, when it was distilled and when it was bottled. The label does not give much away!
