Caledonian 33yo TBWC Bottling Note
Founded in 1855 and originally called Edinburgh distillery, Caledonian (or 'The Cally' as it was known by those who worked there) was located by Haymarket station in Edinburgh. Once home the largest patent still in Europe, the distillery closed in 1988 and apartments now stand on the site. The large chimney remains, however, and if you were to climb it you'd be confronted with the glorious view on this label from That Boutique-y Whisky Company! We can see the Calton hill complete with National and Nelson Monuments, the Balmoral, Edinburgh Waverley station and, of course, Edinburgh Castle. But what's this? Somebody's brought a bottle of Boutique-y Caledonian with them to the top of the chimney depicting the very same scene, within which is the same scene again, within which... Oh god, it's Ben Nevis on Ben Nevis above Ben Nevis all over again!
This is a release of 144 bottles.
‘That Boutique-y Whisky Company’ bottles single malts, single grains and bourbons from a variety of renowned distilleries as well as producing award-winning blended malts and blends. These whiskies are adorned with cultish graphic novel-style labels.
