Butterscotch &... 25yo

What's that gathering of giddy grain fans doing? They appear to be dancing in a figure of eight... oh no, wait... it's an ampersand? Of course! They're gleeful about this 25-year-old blended grain Scotch whisky joining the no-nonsense &Whisky range. It's all about what's inside the bottle here, with a focus on delivering complex, carefully crafted liquid, with a no-frills, all-punctuation label. You might not be surprised to find silky notes of butterscotch and vanilla here, coupled with rich chocolate, fruit, and oaken spice, and at brilliant bang for buck, it'll have you dancing ampersands in no time.

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

Nose Cinder toffee and cinnamon buns, with buttery helpings of vanilla shortbread, and dulce de leche. Toasted oak and juicy plums nestle beneath.

Palate Silky, mouthcoating layers of butterscotch and cookie dough ice cream, with marmalade and honey-drizzled apricots, joined by trail mix and delicate spice.

Finish Gingerbread, toffee apples, and creamy, oaken vanilla last an age, with syrupy, fruit-studded flapjack and a dusting of pepper in tow.

Reviews for Butterscotch & Vanilla & Toast & a Generation 25 Year Old
An enjoyable dram.
Whilst the name is a bit of a red herring and what originally drew me to try it last year, it has an interesting and enjoyable taste and is good value for money - better than the 30 yr old. I have since bought it on two occasions.

Good value
Not bad for the price. However it needs some water to open it up and enhance the flavour. Good value.

Pleasant after dinner dram
I was a little disappointed, didn’t really get a butterscotch hit! It was a bit smoky and the finish was enjoyable but I had expected more of an Ardbeg smokiness! Not to worry though the bottle will be consumed, it wasn’t bad just didn’t hit the high notes for me!
