Another intriguing release from the popular Bushmills Causeway Collection, finished in barrels that contained some of the most expensive red wine in the world from the smallest of all the major Bordeaux wine appellations. This 2012 vintage Irish single malt whiskey was first aged in bourbon barrels and oloroso sherry butts before being finished in rare Pomerol wine casks for a further four years.
Baked apples, sticky toffee, and toasted almonds, with orange rind and sweet oak.
Crème anglaise, nuttiness, orchard fruit, and a playful zestiness.
Wild berries and lemon zest.
