Wine Cask
The Bushmills Causeway Collection sees master blender Alex Thomas curate a superb selection of well aged expressions in an intriguing range of maturations and finishes. This edition was distilled in 2011 and aged in a mixture of bourbon and oloroso sherry casks. Then it spent two years in barrels that previously held Sauternes, the sweet wine of Bordeaux, imparting a layer of pineapple, peach, and honey to the classic Bushmills profile. It's bottled at cask strength, 56.3% ABV.
Dates, peaches, pineapple with honey, toffee and vanilla.
Layers of stone fruit and dried fruits with caramel and malty biscuity notes with a fiery peppery flavour coming in.
Long and sweet with stone fruit and honey flavours lingering.
