One of the most well-known Irish blends, Bushmills Black Bush features a lot of sherried malt in its recipe, alongside classically caramel-y grain whiskey. Black Bush great taste one of the nicest whiskeys I have ever tasted reasonly priced will always be in my top 10.
I've had this whiskey on quite a number of occasions, it is very consistent for flavour. Plenty of sherry sweetness and a bit of spice: particularly on the nose though you can taste it (mixed spice? nutmeg? mace?) too. It has a much more substantial flavour and character than Bushmills Original, 10 or 16. It's my pick from the Bushmills distillery. It's probably got some caramel added and its probably been chill filtered. If they ever bring out a version where they don't do this I'd be very interested in buying plenty of it. In the meanwhile it is still one of the best blends going.
Soooo drinkable, tasting note is not representative - not in the least astringent but I add rocks, essential in the desert heat of the uAE
I am a Jack Daniel guy. but I do love an irish. and Bushmills has always been my brand. Blsck Bush is very very good. the test is excellent. this is a sophisticated high class product.
Decided to give this blend a try. Quite Nice neat with a small cube! Really enjoying the sherry resolve from the aging process. Reminds me a bit of Crown Cask 16 (which is out of production I believe. But I have found a new friend in this blend. Can't wait for a cigar and a glass.
