Bushmills 10 Year Old 2010 Cognac Cask - The Causeway Collection
10 year old Irish single malt from Bushmills' Causeway Collection – the previous release in this series was finished in Malaga wine casks, whereas this particular expression enjoyed a finishing period in Cognac casks! It was initially aged in bourbon and Oloroso sherry casks, before being moved over to Cognac casks for the final two years of maturation. Lots of fruit-forward notes to discover here.
Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt
Nose
Red apples and red grapes, with a dusting of nutmeg and cinnamon.
Palate
Heavy vanilla at the fore, but still packed with orchard fruit and warming spices.
Finish
Dry cedar, milk bottle sweeties, toffee.
