The Viceroy's Elixir 1987 - Wemyss Malts (Bunnahabhain)
Independently bottled Bunnahabhain, aged in a Sherry butt from 1987 to 2017. This delicious Wemyss Malts bottling has been given the name ‘The Viceroy's Elixir’ to elicit regal notions of class and sophistication. Given the standard of this excellent, Sherried Islay single malt Scotch whisky, it does the job. Bottled with an outturn of 579 bottles, ‘The Viceroy's Elixir’ is a single cask release that ranks at 46% ABV.
Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt
Nose
An earthy aroma brings out smoked meats, cranberries and clove
Palate
Rich, decadent red berry fruits, dried dates and apricots, and bitter dark chocolate are glazed in silky honey, surrounded by smooth mahogany and light peat smoke.
Finish
Fragrant malt with hints of cigar box and brown sugar.
