Single Malt
Scotland
Though Bunnahabhain is well-known for people one of the few distilleries on Islay to produce unpeated whisky, it does in fact make peaty whisky from time to time too – and the Skene folks have got their hands on some for an indie bottling! This expression was drawn from hogshead casks, and bottled up at 48% ABV.
Toasted sugar, eucalyptus, baked earth smokiness.
Still enjoyably vegetal, with rounded barley and vanilla notes balancing it.
Sweet peat sticks around on the finish.
