    Bunnahabhain Mòine

Mòine is a showcase of Bunnahabhain's single malt Scotch whisky with a characteristically Islay-esque helping of peat at its core. While Bunnahabhain is one of the few distilleries on the island that produced unpeated malts, they have more than enough practice putting together peated expressions - and here's the proof!

    The best peated!!!

Wow.... This is spectacular whisky. And considering the price it's unbelievable it's not higher. As a lover of peaty whisky, that Islay gold this has to be one of the best whiskys in ever had. I'm seriously putting this right there with ardbeg 10,Laphroaig QC and Toiteach a dha. The nose is spectaculary rich with iodine, salt and smoke. The taste is long and full of different effects I can't even say what. Complete NSA whisky and I already had two.... Forever on my stock. Salute to Bunnahabhain!!

    warm, rich, and perfectly peaty.

Very nice warm and round whisky. Definitely one of my favourites and very good value for money. This has a lot of flavour, it is very rich and just the right amount of smokeyness. Perfect for christmas

Smoky costal lime sorbet coated with raw cocoa powder

I would buy this with double the price, but with 40€ this is insane! A bit like Ardbeg 10, but with more character and complexity.

    Peated coastal wonderful

I was blown away by this one and it will probably go down as one of my favorites. It is so unique. The nose and palate are much as described. You can't miss the coastal peaty notes here

Oily, peppery and sweet coastal whisky.

Someone below mentioned afterburn, I beg to differ, it´s not afterburn – I would call it delicious pepperiness – lingering at your palate. This is a great whisky for the price, in my opinion far ahead other entry level Islays, including peat giants like Laphroaig and Ardbeg. Solid body that takes water really well, well balanced. Every element of Islay is there, tar, ash, peat, brine, seaweed... also those elements usually connected to smoky and coastal whiskies of Islay, like Caol Ila, and especially Lagavulin: smoky disinfectant, floor wax , leather polish etc. In short, Moine combines in some odd ways peat monsters and smoky coastalness; Ardbeg and Lagavulin. Funny thing is that this is much, much better than any entry level Ardbeg, or any Lagavulin, that I´ve ever tasted... yes, it might sound surprising, but I must confess that I´m not a great admirer of Lagavulin. This whisky has very peppery character, but nothing dominates too much. If you are after a delicious sherry bombs, then, this is not for you. There´s a lot of oily sweetness, but in a totally different context then in those fruity and trendy, heavily sherried whiskies. But if you are after oily, peppery, salty and sweet, well balanced coastal whisky, this is absolutely for you. I will give this five stars, because I´ve never tasted any coastal whisky better at the price.
