A limited edition peated single malt from Bunnahabhain. This expression was drawn from seven oloroso sherry casks and bottled at cask strength, without any chill-filtration or additional colour. A great combination of well-sherried malt and peat smoke richness.

Tried to get one, But alas :'( Review based on description & other peoples reviews :D
This is a whopper of a whisky. A big, greasy, oily, funky warming dram. The smell is thick and dark and complex without being overpowering, but it does hint at the smoked meat, peaty phenolic explosion that lurks within. Personally I'm not one for peat in general but I do love the way Bunnahabhain manage the peat profiles in their whiskies. For me, they seem to really have a good handle on how to deliver a rich peat flavour without it becoming overpowering and ultimately distracting. The Olorosso comes through on this whisky beautifully. The marriage of the peat, the smoke, the brininess and tartness with the sherry and the richness of the malt are much more than a sum of the parts. There's a lot going on, almost a menthol kick, some sweet and sour vinegar tones, beautiful smoked meat and waves of warmth and smoke and deep burnt sugar. I bought 3 bottles on the chance it might be a great expression from Bunnahabhain. I feel I made the right choice. If you're an Aberlour A'bunadh fan but want to visit the peaty side then this might right up your street. Simply brilliant.
Not a traditional Islay experience with less smoke than I was expecting, but more perfectly balanced for it, the sherry zing lifts it to a different place entirely. Perfect with just a drop of water, despite its cask strength, you'll be rewarded by allowing the vapours to fill both your mouth and nose in a wonderful sensory overload. One sip seems to go on for ever. Sensational, in every sense of the word.
This is only the best single malt of the year 2017. Congratulations Bunnahabhain for this work of art !!! Simply awesome !!!!
Finally Bunnahabhain has combined the sherry bomb with the peat bomb. And the result is incredible. I savour every drop.
