A splendid single cask bottling of Bunnahabhain from The Whisky Cellar. With a generous helping of characteristic Islay peat to Bunnahabhain's single malt Scotch whisky, this one was distilled in December 2011 and slumbered in a single cask, before in June 2022, the folks at The Whisky Cellar decided it was just about perfect to crack open. Non-chill filtered and naturally coloured, this cask produced an outturn of only 294 bottles at a robust 55.4%. A drop or two of water wouldn't go amiss for this superbly smoky sipper.
Hints of flamed waxy lemon zest, with moss, drizzles of floral honey and earthy peat.
More of that earthy peat front and centre, backed by buttery shortbread and ginger snaps.
Warm ginger lingers along with wisps of earthy smoke.
