    Bunnahabhain Cruach Mhòna

Cruach Mhóna is gaelic for a pile of drying peat bricks and follows on from Toiteach (gaelic for smoky) as a peaty offering from Bunnahabhain. Although Islay is famed for its peat, Bunnahabhain's spirit is unpeated (this being an exception that proves the rule).

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

    Nose

Peat and vanilla, creosote, dried herbs, harbour rope, sweet biscuits and orchard fruit.

    Palate

Sweet and smoky, lemon, salt and pepper. Beneath there's oak and malt and hints of sand dune.

    Finish

    More sweet smoke and citrus.

Oof it just hits the spot

Young, heavily peated whisky matched with 21y.o aged in sherry casks. It can easily compete with Lagavulin 16 in refinement. It is smooth even at 50% ABV. Smoke, sweetness, fruit, herbs and slight zest on the nose. The palate is sweet, smoky, zesty and just great. Ling finish, with lot of smoke, sweetness and very medicinal. Great scotch.

    Thedogsbollox.

An absolute gem of a dram and stands to this day as the best. A powerhouse of flavour with a complexity that tantalises the palate, exceptionally good. Don't hesitate for a minute about purchasing this bottle, guaranteed you will want more.

Bunnahabhain proves why they are the best

My wife bought this from a cruise and it's fantastic bunna with the peat. Considering this comes from a distillery that doesn't do peated whisky it's better than many others who do. They should bring this to their core range. One of the best to drink. Another jackpot from bunnahabhain!! 5 stars no doubt

    Outstanding!

Why don't they make more of this and sell it outside duty free?

Demonstrates that higher ABV can support the youth of a NAS

Nose: There is a peat bog putridness to this that is substantial. Palate: There is a sherbet reaction on the tongue that has haunts of dark liquiouse on the roof. After: The palate carries and its not an unwelcome continuation.
