    Single Malt

    Bunnahabhain Cruach Mhòna

Cruach Mhóna is gaelic for a pile of drying peat bricks and follows on from Toiteach (gaelic for smoky) as a peaty offering from Bunnahabhain. Although Islay is famed for its peat, Bunnahabhain's spirit is unpeated (this being an exception that proves the rule).

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

    Nose

Peat and vanilla, creosote, dried herbs, harbour rope, sweet biscuits and orchard fruit.

    Palate

Sweet and smoky, lemon, salt and pepper. Beneath there's oak and malt and hints of sand dune.

    Finish

    More sweet smoke and citrus.

    Very clean peated whisky

Tuath glass showing tawny to subdued mahogany. The nose shows pronounced notes of peated malt and lightly charred wood. The palate is peat forward with very little alcoholic heat. Surprisingly smooth for a peated malt. Very clean and

Beautifully rich and beautifully rounded peaty islay whisky!

I was lucky enough to be able to taste this whisky at the airport duty free, looking for a special whisky for my whisky loving father - I've picked up the same trait. This whisky is an absolute beauty! Dad will need to settle for a photo until we come out of lock down. I have absolutely no doubt he will very pleased to see me when we can next meet!

    Super

Pleated bunnahabhain is always amazing, they need to do more and some age statement pleated whisky in their standard range. Briny, salt and wood smoke with sweet dried fruit.

If only they sold this in the US

Such a refreshing find since US Islay options seem to be limited to the same bottles: (Laphroig, Lagavulin, Ardberg...all great but after a while you wish for a new options). Tried this in a London duty free store just fantastic. Right amount of smoke and so good
