Released for the Travel Retail market, An Cladach from Bunnahabhain is a sherry-driven expression with enough spiced backing it up to balance the sweetness handsomely. The name means "The Shore" in Scots Gaelic - apt, considering Bunnahabhain's location on the north-east coast of Islay.
Almond and cherry, fruity coffee, a hint of damp oak.
Raisin, more cherry, black pepper and clove. A touch of walnut.
Medium length with sherried malt in charge.

Just trying my first dram of this whisky. It gets better with every sip. So take your time and don't bank on first impressions.
"Face-slapping" update. 1/3 way down the bottle the youth-feel has dissipated and this whisky has become more rich and wonderful. Very good.
This is something like... taking the 12 year and adding some high alcohol younger whisky in. Some of the character along with a nice slap in the face. The 50% ABV makes it work as a wake-me-up sipper with a bit of character and depth. I like it... but it isn't as mature or refined as the 12-year-old standard. Perfect for your flask.
Bunnahabhain has long been my favourite malt, and An Cladachdoes does not disappoint. This is beautifully balanced, but at 50% requires more than normal addition of water. Lovely.
Brilliant Bunnahabhain in their traditional style, but with extra depth, very fruity, slightly spicy, developing in waves of flavour with a smooth, long finish.
