Looking for some properly old Islay single malt? Yeah, you've found it here. This is a 40-year-old sherry cask-matured single malt from the Bunnahabhain distillery. Well-known for being a source of unpeated whisky from the Hebridean isle famous for smoky single malts, Bunnahabhain offers up plenty of fruit and oak notes, which get dialled up spectacularly for this extensively matured expression.
Tasting Note by The Producer
Nose
Hints of tropical fruits, banana, berries, creamy toffee, vanilla, rich nuttiness and delicate sweet oak.
Palate
Sweet malt, creamy caramel, vanilla, creamy berries, with hints of toasted nuts, tropical fruit, banana and pineapple.
Finish
Long sweet and fruity.
