Bunnahabhain 30 Year Old 1988 (cask 12254) - Xtra Old Particular (Douglas Laing)

An independently bottled Bunnahabhain, aged for three decades in a single refill butt. This single malt was distilled on Islay in February 1988, then left to age for 30 years until March 2018, when it was bottled by Douglas Laing for the Xtra Old Particular range. 308 bottles were produced.

    Tasting Note by The Producer

On the nose detect rich beeswax with muscovado sugar and light peat with a herbal sweetness. The palate provides a burst of sweet cereal, almonds and homemade stick toffee pudding with ginger and nutmeg, while the finish is long and dry then fading to highlight the camphor and Islay sea salt and gentle smoke.
