The Higginbottom name has stepped in to the world of whisky once again. Back in the latter half of the 1800s, Henry Albert Higginbottom supplied whisky to to British troops, and in 2017, his great-great-grandson Leo Scott-Francis revived the name with a series of independently bottled whiskies! This one is a 27 year old Bunnahabhain, matured in a single bourbon barrel from December 1989 to October 2017, and was bottled with an outturn of 289 bottles.
Nose: Enjoyably fruit-forward with fresh pineapple, white grape and green apple. A whiff of sea air in the background.
Palate: Mature oak starts to take control on the palate, paired with fruity coffee and allspice.
Finish: Still has hints of juicy tropical fruits running through it.
