Bunnahabhain 2008 Rioja Cask Finish - The Coterie Exclusive 2023
Bunnahabhain originally released this single malt exclusively for members of its Coterie. Distilled in 2008, the whisky finished its maturation with a generous five-year stay in Rioja wine casks before bottling in spring 2023 for a profile that's laden with sweet, vinous red fruit and lingering spice.
Tasting Note by The Producer
Nose
Initial sweet notes of cherry ice cream and soft caramel fade to reveal toasted malt, dark berries and a subtle note of spice.
Palate
Roasted nuts, cloves and toasted oak are met with wonderful fruity flavours of sweet red grapes, chocolate raisins and a gentle herbaceous background.
Finish
Lingering spicy finish with a sea spray mist.
