Sherry

A peaty treat in the form of this Bunnahabhain, distilled in 2005 at the Islay-based distillery. It was then matured in a sherry hogshead and independently bottled by Malts of Scotland in 2018 at cask strength, a healthy 54.7% ABV. A very small outturn of 261 bottles.
Heavy smoke aromas, intertwined with sweeter notes of sherry, jammy forest fruits and brown sugar.
A balance of sweet and peaty notes, barbecue smoke and sherried notes peeking through, with an oily mouthfeel.
Long, a small pinch of salt and dark chocolate.
