A cracking bottling from Islay's Bunnahabhain Distillery, released for Fèis Ìle 2022! This expression was distilled in 1998 and matured for two decades, before being transferred over to Calvados casks for a final finishing period. At 23 years of age, it was bottled up at 49.7% ABV. Not every day you see a tremendous single malt Scotch whisky finished in Calvados casks, so if you're curious about the impact they can have on the spirit, you'll want to snap up a bottle!
Barley sugar, pear drops, toffee apples. Followed by a burst of dates and a floral top note like conifer trees.
Sweet and fruity, lots of green apple and pear candies. Some signature cereal, oily notes of Bunnahabhain and more toffee mixed with dried fruits.
Spicy powerful then floral on the palate.
