Description
An 18 year old single malt from Islay's Bunnahabhain, indepedently bottled by Douglas Laing for the marvellous Old Particular range. This one was drawn from a single refill hogshead that was laid down in 2004 and cracked open in 2022, producing only 284 bottles. A surprisingly smoky whisky from Bunnahabhain, which is known more for its unpeated expressions.
Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt
Nose
Bacon crisps and sea spray, with a touch of cooked apple.
Palate
Seaweed, white pepper, oily barley, and smoke.
Finish
Lasting spiciness of roasted barley and charred oak.
