Wine Cask

Produced as a result of The Octave Project, this 15 Year Old Bunnahabhain spent its initial maturation in a bourbon hogshead, and was then moved for a five month finishing period to an octave cask, the staves for which had been sourced from a cask which previously held Rioja wine. The octave imparted a warm golden hue along with lots of tannic fruity notes, and the liquid was independently bottled by A.D Rattray at cask strength, released for the Cask Collection.
Chocolate praline and toasty malt leads into and rich cherry jam, tart red fruit and dried fruit, with toasted vanilla and tobacco.
Bittersweet dark red fruit, with blackberry jam and black pepper, oily malt and tannic red wine notes coming through.
Tannic oak, tart berries and earthy vanilla pod.
