Enjoy Bulleit Bourbon like the Americans do! Previously it has been bottled at 40% ABV for the UK market, but now you can get the Frontier Whiskey at 45% ABV, just like they have in Kentucky. A stunning whiskey that won a Gold medal at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition in 2012.
Give this a go in a smashing Mint Julep cocktail following the recipe below!
60ml Bulleit Bourbon
20ml Simple syrup (1 part sugar to 1 part water)
8-10 mint leaves, and three mint sprigs.
Pack a julep cup with crushed ice so it can start getting nice and cold. In a mixing glass, combine the bourbon, syrup, and mint leaves. Use a muddler to lightly bruise the leaves in the glass to release their flavour, then strain the contents into your julep cup. Garnish with three nice big sprigs of mint, (give them a little pat first, to release their minty aromas!) – then stick a straw in close by.
Bright with orange zest, toasted oak and vanilla.
Further orange notes, followed by some warming winter spices and a hint of tobacco leaf.
Smooth and spicy.

I tried a bottle of Bulleit rye first,and I liked it so much that I wanted to try the bourbon. I am not disappointed.It is a lovely whiskey,which seems to me to have a dry floral note.Perhaps this is the tobacco leaf that the Chaps discern. It amazes me how you get absolutely opposite views on whiskies,and only goes to show how individual our tastebuds are.
Excellent stuff. I prefer this to most single malts
I bought a bottle as my first legal liquor purchase, and it's going strong. Acetone, orange and a sour note on the nose. Sweet and lively spice on the tongue, with a nice rye kick going down. Lovely stuff.
So I went to the store to get a bottle of scotch. Nothing too fancy £35 was my budget. After looking at the small section scotch I stumbled upon the even smaller burbon section. I cruised pass the wild turkey and came across this. Needless to say I ended up purchase this tipple. I find this burbon quite peculiar. The best way I can describe it is that if you take away the stereotypical burbon flavor, you will find a kind of vintage marmalade flavor. So overall fairly tasty, hints of molasses and orange, a little on the grainy side (if I'm honest).
Bought this two weeks ago. Took my first pour the same evening. Was not impressed. Tried another a few days later. A bit more happy with the nose, taste and finish. Had some friends over for dinner last Saturday. Had this as an aperitif. One of my friends said it was excellent. I still was not convinced. Tonight, Friday, just six days later, I poured this bourbon when i got home from work late in the evening. Now I have to say that I really like this whiskey. I now am sad as I am about to emptying the bottle. Definitely will buy another soon. What a wonderful world there is of whiskies. Cheers. Oh, and I will also try the Bulleit Rye. Can't wait. John
