Buffalo Trace is the flagship bourbon for the eponymous distillery made from corn, rye and malted barley. It’s aged in new oak barrels in historic old warehouses. The award-winning bourbon is batched from no more than 40 barrels at a time, and is aged on the middle floors of the distillery warehouses where the temperature fluctuation is the greatest. A top whiskey, with oodles of vanilla, barrel char and spicy complexity.
Spicy and sweet with caramel, creamy toffee eclairs, hints of cinnamon, rum spice and cereal sweetness.
Brown sugar, toffee apple, sweet oak, custard, oily espresso beans, a touch of chocolate-covered raisins and toasty wood.
Good length with sweet spices, cinnamon gum and toffee.

This is a regular go-to end of the day bourbon for me along with Four Roses, or a decent Irish whiskey. I’ll break out something unique on special occasions or for someone with a certain palate. This bourbon does not disappoint neat, on a few cubes or in a perfect Manhattan.
I am typically a scotch drinker, but I occasionally feel like a bourbon and this ticks every box and is just a classic bourbon. Vanilla, cherry, wood spice and all the usual flavours are in abundance. Stands up to well to ice on a scorching Australian summer day! My rating includes value for money it would have 5 stars if it was slightly cheaper
This is sweet and slow, a real southern beauty. Very easy sipping; tasty, brown sugar, oak and spice. And the best nose this side of the Mississippi. Gorgeous.
Completely surprised by the depth of flavour of this terrific bourbon. Very moorish. Definitely spicy and rummy, but think Red Cola (UK only). Brown sugar and hint of cherry somewhere in the very back. I'm sure I can taste that old dunnage in there too. I'd suggest over ice for the full variety of flavours.
The Buffalo Trace of a few years ago, the cinnamon/clove/honey/vanilla yum yum we all came to know and love is gone. Poof. In its place is this new Buffalo Trace: Kerosene Jet Fuel Singed Eyebrows. My guess? They are putting anything out there to get sales. Sorry but this is not an attractive product. My tongue is numb. I can taste blast-furnace grain alcohol. The glory days have passed, ditto for many others including Elijah Craig.
