Wine Cask
An unusual Islay whisky here, this is a Rhinns single malt, which is another name for a heavily peated Bruichladdich! Claxton's bottled this one after it spent eight years in a single Madeira cask. It was bottled up at 57.9% ABV with just 187 bottles released, and there's bold notes of peat smoke among the honeyed cask influence.
Peat smoke leads to way, with aromas of damp grass and smoked heather.
More peat smoke kicks things off, leading into sweeter notes of pears in syrup and floral honey.
Buttery caramel lingers alongside a smouldering bonfire.
