    Port Charlotte Peat Project

An early Port Charlotte single malt from Islay's Bruichladdich distillery, peated to 44ppm. This bottling is a blend of multiple vintages of this smoky whisky and offers an insight into how Bruichladdich may have tasted in years gone by.

This bottle was part of a private collection - if you'd like more detailed photos just get in touch!

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

    Nose

This is a battle between peat and spice. The smoke swirls around a battalion of pepper and cinnamon.

    Palate

The smoke arrives first followed by an immense creaminess on the palate, then notes of sherbet lemon emerge.

    Finish

The finish is fruity with just a hint of soot and nutmeg.

    Overall

This is a whisky for the peat-heads and is a great example of what's coming out of Bruichladdich's peat project.

    Very Nice

Definitely recommend this bottle. It has become my new go to scotch. Smooth, very nice taste, great finish.

    Very suprised

Bought this after trying the laddie ten which I enjoyed. Having tried most of the big named peated scotch. I was amazed by the robust taste of this scotch from The first sip it had me wanting more and for fifty dollars in my area it has just moved to the front of the line up in my scotch drinking endeavors.

    Fresh with attitude

Balanced smoke hit, vanilla cream, then a peppery ethanol finish. A very refreshing whisky which also does well as an introduction to peaty single malts. Also great bottle design compared to the stereotypical whisky bottles with labels using out of date fonts

    Beeee aaaaa yoooooo teeeee fuulllll

Bought a half bottle while on holiday. Shame, I could have drammed a cask away. This would be a great intro into peat whiskey as its not a shock to the palate as some are, more a kiss and a cuddle.
