Bourbon
A Malts of Scotland indie bottling of peaty single malt from the Bruichladdich Distillery on Islay, released under the Port Charlotte name. This expression was distilled in 2004, and aged in a bourbon barrel until 2019, when it was bottled up at cask strength, with an outturn of 267 bottles.
Medicinal peat smoke arrives right away, with a wave of white fruit sweetness balancing the salinity.
Buttery pancakes and maple syrup, followed by another kick of peat.
Red chilli flake, vanilla and burnt ends.
