Introduced as the flagship Port Charlotte expression produced by Bruichladdich in 2018, this 10 year old single malt from the Isle of Islay is a lip-smackingly smoky number indeed. It's peated to 40ppm, and drawn from a combination of first-fill American whiskey casks, second-fill American whiskey casks and second-fill French wine casks.
Nose: Salted caramel brownie, flamed orange peel, a hearty whack of seaweed.
Palate: Oak-y smoke and salty sea air, paired with sweeter notes of Custard Cream biscuits and white grape.
Finish: Ginger snaps, rye toast, drying peat smokiness.

Manages to be delicate, smokey, sweet and very enjoyable. No exceptional though.

Sweet raspberries, Fruity vanilla and with a lot of peat in a perfectly balanced mix. This is an outstanding winter dram. On par with Laphroaig Lore and Ardbeg Uiegadail

What a absolute beautiful dram. Really well balanced, sweet and smokey without being over powering. Smooth and oily, really worked it's way close to my top spot

For any scotch under £100, this is the one. I'd previously tried but not been overly impressed by their 'the laddie', but this one is another level. Smokey but like velvet.

This is a nice Islay example, but quite light on smoke and salt compared to others. This is a great option for those who want to try something smokey without going too bold, but a disappointing option for those with a taste for peat-monsters.

Has Peat smoke & bonfire in abundence but thats it other than a slight vanilla custard thing going on, Kinda like an Ardbeg with no sea spray or griled lemon which it way better on my opinion & cheaper too. What it has it does well but it's very linier & 1 dimensional.

I have loved all the Port Charlottes, especially PC6, but 10 was so disappointing, Bland, not really Islay whisky. That PC10 has been on sale for several years now suggests that it’s poor — the earlier PCs sold out within a year, while this stuff is still cluttering supermarket shelves.

This just has everything to like about it. Heavy beautiful bonfire smell and taste with just excellent undertones with none of the harsh alcohol or medicinal scents. All round great peaty whisky. Just buy it.

Great, to buy two. Sea salt and a peat that wraps. To enjoy.
