A 10-year-old Octomore – the beloved peated single malt from Islay's Bruichladdich distillery. This one finished its maturation with a stay in an oloroso sherry octave, custom-made for the folks at indie bottler Darkness. An intriguing combo of sweet baked goods, salted nuts and coastal smoke make this a superbly complex sipper.
Sweet layers of honey, candy floss, flapjack, and buttery pastry with soft smoke gathering in time.
That smoke picks up with waves of peat riding alongside sweet burnt toffee, earthy malt, and a touch of salinity.
Crushed nuts, salted pretzels, candied fruit, and bonfire embers.
