Superb single malt from Bruichladdich. Distilled in 1991, bottled in 2019, it spent the intermediate 27 years hanging out in a single refill hogshead. That is until we decided this deliciousness simply could not wait any longer to be unleashed upon the world, with a total of 42 bottles taking their place in Master of Malt's independent Single Cask series.
A whiff of floral tea and hearty helpings of fresh apple and pear before heather honey and soft peach creep in.
Creamy and mouthcoating, with buttery fruit pastries countering a pinch of cinnamon heat. Salted nuts make an appearance, as well as sweeter, candied nuts and baked, spiced apples.
Rich malt lasts, with warming spices, dates, and chocolate raisins.
