Single Malt
Scotland
1 Jan 1986
30-year-old single malt from Islay's Bruichladdich distillery, released as part of the Rare Cask Series. It was distilled in 1986 and initially aged in a host of oloroso sherry butts before it was transferred to a selection of Pedro Ximenéz butts from winemaker Jan Pettersen at Bodega Fernando de Castilla in 2012 by former Master Distiller Jim McEwan in 2012. The Magnificent Seven was drawn from just seven casks, producing 4,200 bottles.
This bottle was part of a private collection and may show signs of wear if of a certain vintage - if you'd like more detailed photos just get in touch!
Worn leather and nutty dates, with a thick layer of melted dark chocolate.
Christmas cake, rancio, a subtle touch of sea salt, herbaceous tobacco and tangy citrus.
Continued Sherried awesomeness.
