From our Master of Malt Single Cask Series comes a brilliant first-fill bourbon cask matured Bruichladdich single malt Scotch whisky, presented at a generous 57.3% ABV. It was distilled on the isle of Islay in July 2002 and set aside to age until November 2014, when we bottled it at 12 years old.
This superb single malt has been presented in bottles with experimental, air-tight glass closures, which eliminates the chance of cork taint affecting the whisky's flavour profile, and looks rather spiffy. And trust us, you want to experience the full flavour of this one, it's an absolute corker - no pun intended.
114 bottles were produced.
Vanilla custard, sugary porridge dotted with just a few blueberries and Rolos. Many, many Rolos. Rye bread and touches of barrel char develop after a few minutes in the glass.
Almond butter, slightly sweetened with a a dollop of honey. Extra thick double cream, juicy barley and spicy cinnamon sticks. Water brings out comforting notes of salted toffee.
Berries and barley round off this marvellous Bruichladdich.
Relaxed but by no means lazy, this is a classic bit of Bruichladdich brilliance.
