Brora 35 Year Old 1977 (Special Release 2013)
Distilled in 1977, this extraordinary 35 year old Brora from Diageo's Special Releases was matured in American and European oak casks. It's the twelfth annual release of this irreplaceable single malt, from a distillery that closed back in 1983! Although little stock remains, this is a real good'un nonetheless! A proper, smoky Brora to get the fans salivating. 2,944 bottles have been released but won't be available from retailers for long!
This bottle was part of a private collection - if you'd like more detailed photos just get in touch!
Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt
Nose
Initial apple sherbet gives way to thick custard, waxiness and then apricot wheats.
Palate
Sooty and sweet, touch of dried seaweed, a proper Brora this is.
Finish
Some beach bonfire near grass covered dunes.
Overall
If you’re looking for your Brora to be a little filthy and smoky, rather than a Clynelish on steroids, then this is one for you.
