This "Breath of Islay" was distilled at a secret Islay distillery in 1999. It was aged for 12 years in cask 5877 and was bottled by Adelphi in 2011. A lovely whisky with an out-turn of 329 bottles.
Creamy and sweet with notes of vanilla and a thick core of cool wood smoke, old ropes, spice and sticking plasters. A classic Islay nose for sure!
Pine resin, smoke and ginger, notes of marmalade, burnt granary toast with butter, samphire and butterscotch. Quite a big dollop of peat too.
Good length with spices and peat smoke.

By far one of the best Islay whiskies I've had! Still can't tell for sure where it's from...
