Braeval 11 Year Old 2014 - Hot Chocolate (Uncharted Whisky)
This big, bold Braeval single malt is brought to us by independent bottler Uncharted Whisky. Distilled in 2014, this whisky spent its full maturation in a powerful Pedro Ximénez sherry cask, bringing decadently rich, sticky-sweet layers of cocoa, stewed fruits, butterscotch, and warming spice. A release of 180 bottles at a robust cask strength of 61.7% ABV.
Tasting Note by The Producer
Nose
Aroma of unwrapping a dark chocolate bar. Rum raisin fudge and fruitcake. Butterscotch slinks about too. This is a decadent glass of whisky.
Palate
Rich high cocoa chocolate. Treacle soaked pudding. Cinnamon Danish pastry and spice spice spice. You would never think this was the hot hot hot 61.7%.
Finish
An enormous depth of PX sherry lingers on the palate after the alcohol is gone. This is truly a sherry bomb.
