Single malt from Islay's Bowmore, distilled back in 1990 and left to age in a hogshead cask until 2018, when it was bottled with an outturn of 200 bottles. It was named Earth, Wind, Fire! as a hint towards its flavour profile, but now we can't get September by Earth, Wind & Fire out of our heads.
Rock pools, rye bread with salted butter, a flutter of florals and some caramelised dates.
Citrus elements begin to come through on the palate, though salinity remains at the fore. Crunchy brown sugar and coffee beans, too.
Very slightly meaty on the finish, with lasting smoke.
