Bowmore Vault Edition - Atlantic Sea Salt Reviews

Really nice bowmore!!!

Got the chance to chase a sample. Quite spicy. Some drops of water open the palate even more.

Worst Bowmore ever 2

I must apologise for my previous review below. I was suffering from a virus and unknowingly my palate was affected. I am now recovered and the whisky tastes much better. A bit like the Tempests of old.

Worst Bowmore ever.

I really can't find anything good about this. Noses of airfix kit glue. It tastes like chalk, bitter and no fruitiness whatsoever. Extremely hard work.

Worth a try

Tastiest Bowmore I’ve ever had. Left a lovely taste on the pallet. Almost like eating a caramel toffee after a softly smoked mackerel. Pricey. But worth the money in this instance. Smooth sweet and subtle smokiness all in one. Unique. Slightly overpriced.

delicious

I really enjoyed this dram, super sweet crisp whisky, with a sea salt finish. Bowmore is one of my favourites, and this salted caramel expression highlights that balanced bowmore flavour.

Tempest DNA

This has tempest inheritance without a doubt. Put it next to any standard Islay and the fruit is strong, and typical Bowmore - tropical, clean, somewhere near grapefruit. Fans of Tempest will be very interested, because the other dimensions are smoke and wood, and an unusal balance for a Bowmore. This is really, really good just overpriced. The sea salt is so aptly named, but the rest is a Tempest song meets modest Islay, with fruit on top.

Great and unusual Bowmore, but pricy

I agree the price - especially upon first release - was uncalled for, but the whisky is not only sound but rather unusual for Bowmore. It's missing the smoke-with-body Islay predictability, but rather really comes across as salt meets spice on Islay, with the smoke not an afterthought, but along for the ride from start to finish. The whisky overall is crispy and citrusy, sharp and spicy, rather solid. An excellent Bowmore, top marks. But indeed overpriced, undeniably.

Wood smoke and Novocain give way to fruit.

I really enjoyed this Bowmore. Lots going on from dentists office Novocain to sea salt(but not much) to fruit and liquorice root. Lots to enjoy. From Mark at WhiskyWhistle

Typical Bowmore of today.

NAS and priced over the 18yo.

Tropical fruits&moderated smoke

Nice Bowmore with a lot of yellow fruits, vanilla, sea breeze. Ok, it's a bit overpriced but a very nice dram with tropical fruit notes and a moderated smoke. I enjoyed it a lot.
